Americas Triathlon

En la pasada jornada se llevó a cabo el Campeonato Panamericano de Triatlón en la pista de carreras Homestead-Miami Speedway donde Estados Unidos y Ecuador se llevaron las medallas de oro en las categorías Elite. En las divisiones juveniles y SUB23, repitió el oro Estados Unidos, además de sumarse Canadá y México que también lograron sus preseas doradas.

En Elite Men, los norteamericanos demostraron una excelente performance y se quedaron con el uno, dos y tres del podio de la principal categoría masculina. Morgan Pearson fue el primero en pasar la línea de meta a los (01:43:39) de carrera, en segundo lugar se posicionó Darr Smith y la tercera ubicación fue para John Reed.

En la división femenina Elite Women, la ecuatoriana Elizabeth Bravo demostró un altísimo nivel y tras finalizar la prueba con una marca de (01:57:37) se hizo de la medalla de oro y el título de campeona. El podio lo completaron las mexicanas Daniela Baca que se ubicó segunda y Sofía Rodríguez que finalizó tercera.

Con respecto a las categorías U23, John Reed de Estados Unidos logró quedar primero en la tabla de los hombres. Segundo fue Brock Hoel de Canadá y tercero Sullivan Middaugh también de Estados Unidos. En la tabla de mujeres, México destacó y completo el podio con Daniela Baca que fue primera, Sofía Rodríguez que fue segunda y Marcela Alvarez que fue tercera.

Por otra parte, en las categorías juveniles, Reese Vannerson de Estados Unidos se hizo del oro en la división masculina. La segunda posición la obtuvo Osvaldo Zuñiga de México y el tercer lugar fue para Vinicius Avi Santana de Brasil. La división femenina fue podio completo de Canadá. Sidney Clement se hizo del primer lugar, Beatrice Filion se ubicó segunda y Beatrice Normand finalizó tercera.

Por último, se llevaron a cabo varias categorías distintas de paratriatlón. En PTWC ganaron Howie Sanborn de Estados Unidos y Leanne Taylor de Canadá. La PTS2 fue del norteamericano Mark Barr y su compatriota Melissa Stockwell. PTS3 fue para Zachary Osborne de Estados Unidos y Kenia Yesenia Villalobos de México. En PTS4 ganaron Carson Clough y Kelly Elmlinger de Estados Unidos. La PTS5 la ganó Stefan Daniel de Canadá y Grace Norman de Estados Unidos. Por último, la PTSIV fue para Owen Carvens de Estados Unidos y Leticia Freitas de Brasil.

Se cierra así una extensa y exitosa jornada deportiva de alta performance y de esta manera se da por finalizado el Campeonato Panamericano de Triatlón y Paratriatlón que se llevó a cabo en Miami.

Last day the Americas Triathlon Championships Miami was held at the Homestead-Miami Speedway where the United States and Ecuador took the gold medals in the Elite categories. In the youth and U23 divisions, the United States repeated the gold, in addition to Canada and Mexico who also won their gold medals.

An extensive and successful day of high performance sports thus closes and in this way the Americas Triathlon and Paratriathlon Championships that took place in Miami come to an end.
