Photo competition: Hamburg

The World Triathlon Hamburg again offered up valuable WTS points, in addition to the Mixed Relay World Championships for double the action, double the speed and double the photos to vote on this week.

On the first day of competition, both the elite men and women suited up for a dose of lactic acid with a serious sprint race. In the men’s race, France’s Vincent Luis gave the field a fright with a break through performance that challenged Alistair Brownlee down the finish chute and upstaged both Jonathan Brownlee and Javier Gomez Noya.

In the women’s race, Gwen Jorgensen again dazzled with her sprint, but it wasn’t a win that came easily with the likes of Emma Jackson and Kirsten Sweetland just seconds off the World Champ.

After crashing out of last year’s Mixed Relay World Championships, Great Britain returned to the top spot this season. But young teams from France and Hungary dusted up the competition with a surprising amount of speed.
