Oceania Title for Olympic Venue

By World Triathlon Admin | 18 Jan, 2006

The 2006 ITU Oceania Under 23 Championships will be be held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith on the 29th January 2006, set in the pristine Olympic venue built for the Sydney Games of 2000.

The Oceania Championship ranks under the World Championship as a most major triathlon race, and the prestigious event is a boost for ITU Junior racing in and around Australasia.

The ITU Oceania U23 Championship is a great opportunity for U23 athletes in Australia, New Zealand and the Oceania countries to show their skill and committment to the sport.

The event is a draft legal Olympic Distance race, open to athletes who are turning 18 to 23 in 2006.

As an ITU Regional Championship event, this race is of major significance for Junior competitors and fits in nicely under World Championship status - as such it should / will be a very desirable event to win!

Further details are available from the ITU website and full details are based at Triathlon NSW’s racing website at www.trinswrace.org

Preceding the ITU U23 Oceania racing, on the 29th January is the Start the Day all Women’s Triathlons as triathlon in NSW celebrates two special core focus groups in competition.

PLEASE NOTE: That ‘ITU Juniors’ attending this event require endorsement from their respective state and/or national federation.
