The Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Grand Final officially opened in spectacular fashion at Changping stadium tonight. Age-group athletes, paratriathletes and their family and friends were treated to an evening of Chinese performances and culture. Olympic champions Emma Snowsill and Jan Frodeno spoke to the audience about what Beijing meant to them as it was the site of the one of the finest moments of their careers: Olympic gold. ITU President Marisol Casado also spoke and thanked the Local Organising Committee for their hard work hospitality.
