Moreno (BRA) and Jefferson (USA) win 2010 Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Pan American ITU Triathlon Cup

Carla Moreno (Brazil) and Sean Jefferson (USA) won the XXVI Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Televisa Deportes Jumex Sport International Triathlon, which was run in México. As this event awarded points in the elite category for the Continental Cup, these athletes obtained points for their ITU Ranking.

The XXVI Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Televisa Deportes Jumex Sport International Triathlon was the fifth event of the 2010 National Triathlon Circuit. For the junior category, it was the Pan American Junior Triathlon Championship and qualified athletes for the World Championship. The swimming leg of the race was cancelled due to extremely hard water conditions, with waves higher than 6 metres. Instead, athletes started the race with a 2-kilometre run, followed by 20K of cycling and a final 5-kilometre run. The Elite athletes competed on a 3K-40K-10K course.
